The Importance of a Reliable Fire Watch Solution
Did you know that over 100,000 fire complaints are lodged in the UK each year? Such incidents are hazardous in residential apartments, high-rise office buildings, and public places, resulting in damages worth millions of pounds. Owners and residents need to mark their safety against fire, given that the risk is freaking high!
Relying solely on fire marshals is no longer a practical approach. A Fire Watch System becomes an important asset when providing accurate reporting that your duties are being undertaken and choosing the right system is crucial to ensure the safety of people and business assets against fire incidents, as well as to comply with fire safety regulations.
How Our Fire Monitoring System Works?
The process begins by identifying locations using a Touch Button. These Touch Buttons are durable, hermetically sealed stainless-steel devices containing unique serial numbers. You can mount these on walls, door frames, or the system components themselves. Each serial number is registered in the MiniTool Pro Software with area-specific descriptions like “Main Lobby,” “Reception, Fire Exit,” or “Main Emergency Call Point.”
A typical patrol begins with the fire warden registering their Personnel Tag on the MiniTool Pro Data reader. They then cover each location or system component and put their device against the corresponding Touch Button, which automatically records this information in the database along with the date and time of this reading.
When the patrol ends, the guard can connect the data reader to the management computer via USB. The collected data is then uploaded to the Patrol Management Software, creating a documented log linked to each Touch Button’s registered description. This helps in obtaining clear, meaningful reports tailored to your hotel, apartment block, or public building.
The MiniTool Pro data reader can store up to 60,000 readings containing necessary details. Along with location Touch Buttons, event books containing ten Touch Buttons can also be registered within the system. These represent predefined tasks such as “Pass,” “Fail,” “Obstruction,” or “Obstruction Removed.” Personnel Touch Buttons help identify the staff member carrying the data reader.
